SkyVision Selects Juniper Networks to Support Global Connectivity Expansion

IP Service Provider Builds-Out Converged Infrastructure for Satellite and Terrestrial
(firmenpresse) - SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 7, 2010 - Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) today announced that SkyVision Global Networks LLC., a leading IP telecommunication service provider, has upgraded & expanded its backbone, edge, and peering infrastructure using Juniper Networks® M10i Multiservice Edge Routers and EX4200 Ethernet Switches. SkyVision operates a satellite and terrestrial fiber-optic network providing connectivity in more than 50 countries, which required a high-performance, carrier-class networking solution to meet continued demand and help support the rapid growth achieved over the last five years.
"Via our gateways in Europe, North America and the Middle East, we provide IP connectivity with access to the global Internet, as well as a worldwide extensive suite of customized end-to-end solutions and services such as Layer 2 VPLS and layer 3 VPN with complementary security services," said Adi Katz, vice president, engineering, SkyVision. Juniper Networks M Series Multiservice Edge Routers employ a hardware-based approach built on a highly scalable, secure and reliable Junos® operating system, enabling multiple services on a single IP/MPLS platform. These features are designed to maximize revenue and minimize operational and capital costs for service providers by providing support for services such as network-based security, real-time voice and video, and bandwidth on demand. Juniper Networks EX4200 Ethernet Switches deliver a carrier-class architecture allowing users to grow incrementally by using a common version of Junos across its routers and switches whilst system monitoring and maintenance are consolidated under a suite of unified management tools.
