Euler Hermes Rating veröffentlicht neue Studie - Verdrängen neue Technologien deutsche Stadtwerke?

(ots) - Die Euler Hermes Rating GmbH hat eine Studie zum
Sektorumbau 2020 erstellt. Die Ratingagentur bewertet in der Studie,
inwieweit traditionelle Geschäftsmodelle der Stadtwerke auf der Kippe
stehen, welche Strategien die Versorger und Kommunen entwickeln und
was das für ihre Überlebensfähigkeit bedeutet.

Die Studie zeigt, dass sich für zwei Drittel der kommunalen
Versorger in Deutschland die finanziellen Kennzahlen bis 2020
erheblich verschlechtern werden. Rückläufige Energiepreise, die
erhöhte Wettbewerbsintensität und innovative Technologien
überregionaler und privater Anbieter sowie der defizitäre ÖPNV führen
in den nächsten Jahren zu deutlich schlechten Ergebnissen.

Die Kommunalversorger müssen nach Einschätzung der Agentur ihre
Investitionen zur Sicherung traditioneller und zum Auf- und Ausbau
neuer Geschäftsfelder erhöhen und ihre Organisationsstrukturen
grundlegend verändern. Kleinere Stadtwerke können die notwendigen
Anpassungen nicht aus eigener Kraft bewältigen. Selbst für große
Versorger mit vernetzten strategischen Partnern wird diese
Entwicklung eine große Herausforderung sein.

Durch die technologie- und regulierungsbedingte Dynamik sowie
strukturelle Personalüberkapazitäten unterliegen Investitionen und
Restrukturierungen erhöhten Risiken.

Zukünftig erwarten die Kommunen verstärkt Dividenden- und
Kapitalrückflüsse sowie Quersubventionierungen defizitärer
Geschäftsfelder der Stadtwerke. Gleichzeitig werden kommunale
Versorger aus Sicht von Euler Hermes Rating ohne strategische
Investoren zur Erschließung neuer Erlösquellen, Technologien und
Finanzierungen der Geschäftsmodelle nicht auskommen.
