Predecessor Georg Bauer to retire

Munich. Erich Ebner von Eschenbach (48) will assume responsibility for the BMW Group?s Financial Services Segment in January of next year. He takes over from Georg Bauer (59), who has held this position since September 2004. Bauer will retire upon reaching retirement age at the end of the year.
Ebner von Eschenbach, who holds a degree in business administration, joined the BMW Group in July 2003, and was most recently head of the Group Treasury. Prior to that, he worked for Hypo Vereinsbank for eight years, in positions including head of Corporate Finance in New York. His successor will be Norbert Mayer (55), previously responsible for Corporate Finance at the BMW Group.
The Financial Services segment?s total business volume, as disclosed in the balance sheet, comprised euro 62,419 million on 31 March 2010. The number of leasing and financing contracts in place with dealerships and retail customers totalled 3,107,568 on the same date.
