(firmenpresse) - Worker Wellness Programs are being implemented to promote health among workers. Employee Wellness Plan (EWP) goals are to instruct, enlighten and bring awareness to individual health and safety. Wellness programs are used by firms as a way to improve productivity and morale while, falling healthcare costs, absenteeism and presenteeism. Companies small and large are facilitating actions and programs that focus on wellness maintenance and preventative health. Employers are also working to enhance workers' quality of life along with quality of work.
These programs range between lunch and learn sessions and nutrition consulting that is personal, to providing fitness studios and quiet rooms. Workers are motivated to participate through tactical marketing (enabling employee involvement in planning) and recognition. Workers track improvement in many areas including blood pressure, blood glucose, body mass index, eating habits, physical activity level, and utilization of stress management techniques. Data is gathered through reporting and testing.
Corporate wellness program layout comprises the following steps:
1. Identifying employee health conditions and demands - This can be learned/found by examining company data for example health and conducting health risk assessments on employees care costs, rate of employee absenteeism and its general affect on business's workers' compensation claims. National health data compared and can also be used to general employee demographics to have common well-being needs regions.
2. Assessing employee willingness to participate within an employee wellness program- This is achieved by gathering information in the type of a survey covering what motivators, days/ times for application implementation and system areas that workers would prefer.
3. Preparation and presenting the software layout- Share application processes and format with supervisors, company stakeholders and decision makers for support and buy in. Make sure you highlight how the company's bottom line will be benefited by the system. Concentrate on mission and system goals. Comprise a projected budget. Work in assessment methods and wellness screening procedures.
4. Implementing a marketing campaign and EWPs- Promotion kick off or can include poster flyers paycheck stuffers, along with a health fair rally. Programming can involve physical fitness programs, smoking cessation programs, pre/postnatal programs, self care systems and financial wellness programs among many other systems.
5. Assessing the success of the program- Appraise employee contribution and satisfaction along with post wellness screening. If possible, analyze results factoring in failures, employee successes and a gain to cost effectiveness. Periodically make adaptations to program as needed.
Firms are moving toward taking a part in workers' health and well being. Human resource supervisors and executives should strongly consider reviewing the present wellness program of the company's. EWPs should reflect the company's actual support for employee well-being and honor each employee's worth to the business operation.
