/ INS. At the World Sustainable Building Conference 2014 (SB14) from 28 to 30.10. Barcelona are ten Swedish projects presented - as an example of what Sweden has to offer in terms of sustainable construction.
(firmenpresse) - The Research Council Formas, the Sweden Green Building Council and the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) commissioned a panel of researchers and industry experts in order to determine ten winners from 50 finalists. In the exhibition, five new buildings, two conversions and three suburban projects are presented from different parts of the country, highlighting Sweden's world leading position in the field of sustainable building strongly.
The winning projects are all based on consistent sustainability thinking, the aim is to create new technology with environmentally friendly areas, and provide innovative solutions to man and the environment at the center. The winner in the new buildings are the Green House in Malmö district Augustenborg, the building of the Montessori preschool in Ronneby, the office complex Väla Gård in Helsingborg, the School of Herresta in the municipality of Järfälla and block 11 of the neighborhood mast Husen in Malmö. In the category tags, the Rådhus Skåne won in Kristianstad, the building of urban and regional management, and the Sweco house in Stockholm. The award-winning suburban projects are Albano in Stockholm, mountain camp in Eskilstuna and Brunnshög in Lund.
Three examples
• Herrestaskolan in the municipality of Järfälla north of Stockholm, is a new complex with a preschool, a school and a sports hall. The project received a gold certificate pursuant to the Swedish Umweltzertifikationssystem Miljöbyggnad that assessed include energy efficiency, indoor climate and choice of materials. That is particularly high demands on energy conservation, indoor air quality, acoustics and control hazardous chemical substances. It was also highly respected in the construction of moisture safety. The building has a low energy consumption, partly due to the FTX ventilation system. Electricity used comes in part from the solar panels on the roof. The house is built of solid wood and has a green roof. The waste from the school walk into a garbage chute, and the school canteen has mills waste, recycle the leftovers for a biogas plant.
• Rådhus Skåne in southern Sweden in Kristianstad is an office complex for 700 people, which combines architecture spanning three centuries. An older building was carefully rebuilt so that a modern green office facility was a good indoor climate. Throughout the project environmental and energy issues were taken into account, with a strong focus on safety and moisture conservation of the building stock. The building has an FTX ventilation system. In summer, the building is cooled using a groundwater heat pump. Rådhus Skåne received the silver certificate pursuant to the Swedish Umweltzertifikationssystem Miljöbyggnad.
• Sköna Gröna camp mountain is a reorganized district in central Sweden Eskilstuna. In the project, special attention was paid to the socio-economic challenges of large housing estates from the 60s and 70s. Bearing mountain is an excellent example of how we can create sustainable cities with little effort, taking into account the needs of the population. The project is characterized by social commitment and an understanding that remodeling projects on communication with residents and based their involvement in the planning must. The houses are energy efficient and have solar panels for water heating and solar cells for power generation. Green courtyards and corridors surrounding fields and woodland landscape are preserved.
"We want an international audience of Sweden expertise in sustainable building," says Conny Rolén, Research Secretary of the Research Council Formas. "This is in large part a result of the Swedish R & D efforts and has great importance for the achievement of national and international environmental goals."
The SB14, the 28-30.10. held in Barcelona, ​​is the world's largest conference for sustainable construction. Sweden's participation in the World Conference SB14 in Barcelona was mainly organized by the Swedish Research Council Formas, the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning (Boverket) and the Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC).
